Remittances from family members boost consumption among Ghanaian tomato farmers.
The study looked at what factors influence how much tomato farmers in Ghana spend. They found that farmers' spending is similar to the national average. Getting money from family members and having a higher income both lead to more spending. Farmers tend to save more than spend, which could be due to economic challenges. Having a smaller family size also means more spending. This suggests that policies to encourage saving could be helpful.
