The article examines how well state-owned companies are performing by looking at their technical efficiency. They used popular methods to estimate this efficiency from 2010 to 2019. The results show that efficiency scores went up from 2010 to 2015, but then went down from 2016 to 2019. The chemical manufacturing industry had the highest efficiency scores, while automotive and equipment manufacturing had the lowest. The difference between these two sectors was up to 10%. The article also gives suggestions on how to improve efficiency in these companies.
