Agriculture Practices Causing High Runoff in Vulnerable Ethiopian Watershed.
Rainfall-runoff modeling using the SWAT model was done in the Finca’aa watershed to predict stream flow and identify vulnerable areas. Inputs like meteorological, land use, soil, and elevation data were used. The model showed good fit with observed data, with surface runoff highest during the rainy season. Agriculture was the main cause of high runoff, and sub-basins 4 and 5 were prone to runoff. The study suggests implementing water management practices to conserve soil and water resources in the watershed.
