Wheat Varieties Discovered to Maximize Nitrogen Efficiency, Boosting Crop Yields for Farmers
The study looked at how different wheat varieties respond to different levels of nitrogen fertilizer. They found that Misr-1 had the highest yield and nitrogen use efficiency, while Sid-12 had the heaviest grains. Increasing nitrogen fertilizer up to 90 kg per feddan increased yield but decreased nitrogen use efficiency. Misr-1 and Gemmiza-11 were the most efficient wheat varieties in both growing seasons.
