Infrastructure is crucial for modern society, especially during disasters. To protect it, we need to define what is critical infrastructure. A study in Sri Lanka identified emergency services, water, energy, transportation, telecommunication, and finance as the most critical sectors. They used a mix of research methods, including literature analysis and interviews, to determine these key areas for the country's security and well-being.
