Okra Pest Thrives in Changing Seasons, Threatening Crop Yields Worldwide
The growth and development of jassid insects on okra plants were studied during different seasons. The researchers found that jassid nymphs took the longest to develop in the post-kharif season, followed by pre-kharif and then kharif. The total lifespan of jassids was longest in post-kharif, followed by pre-kharif and shortest in kharif. The highest number of eggs were laid by jassid females in the post-kharif season, followed by pre-kharif and least in kharif.
