Ocean waves in Indonesia could power cities with new technology!
Ocean wave energy from tides can be a renewable source of electricity in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. By using oscillating water column (OWC) technology, researchers found that this method can generate between 3,645.45 to 4,274,314.37 Watts of electrical power. The highest energy produced was 20,291,728.83 Joules, while the lowest was 17,062.62 Joules. This environmentally friendly energy source is available consistently and can be a valuable resource for the region.
