New study reveals Kanthatmakur watershed less prone to flooding.
The researchers used GIS to study the Kanthatmakur vagu watershed in Warangal District. They found that the watershed has a dendritic drainage pattern with 635 streams and a total length of 45.5 km. The basin area is 440.4 km2 with a relief of 261m. The watershed has a moderate slope, low risk of flooding, and high infiltration. Overall, the Kanthatmakur vagu watershed is elongated, with peak flow, and is less likely to experience flooding.
