Green innovation boosts turnover but fails to improve firm performance.
The study looked at how using green innovation strategies affects a company's success and performance. They studied Spanish firms from 2008 to 2016. Firms that used green innovation strategies had more success in creating new and radical products, leading to higher turnover. However, these firms didn't see much improvement in overall performance. While some firms improved labor productivity with green strategies, others didn't see any benefits. The study suggests that markets don't always reward green innovation, so government support may be needed.
