Parliamentary questions in the Uttar Pradesh State Legislative Assembly were analyzed to see how effective they are. Half of the Assembly members used this tool, with no evidence of party influence. 30% of questions sought information, while 70% pushed for action. The government provided information for 95% of information-seeking questions, but only took action on 37% of action-oriented questions. Overall, parliamentary questions were found to be effective in the Uttar Pradesh Legislature.
