The study looked at changes in forests in KPK, Pakistan over the past 30 years using satellite images. They found that forest area decreased from 1990 to 2009 but increased by 56% from 2010 to 2020, with 836 km2 of new forests planted during a specific program. Overall, there was a 32% increase in forest land over the three decades. This information can help decision-makers encourage tree planting and protect existing forests to fight climate change.
