The study analyzed why Indonesia's current account balance was in deficit from 2018 to 2022. The main reasons were high imports compared to exports, due to domestic production not meeting needs, and global factors like a weak economy and war. The government's policies to address the deficit were not focused enough on industry. However, the weak global economy could provide an opportunity for Indonesia to increase exports.
