Interreligious empathy key in reducing prejudice toward Islamic fundamentalists among Christians.
Interreligious conflicts in Surabaya have led to prejudice towards Islamic fundamentalists among Christian students. A study with 400 participants aged 17-24 found that social dominance orientation and interreligious empathy can predict this prejudice. The results showed that interreligious empathy significantly predicts prejudice, while social dominance orientation does not. This suggests that fostering interreligious empathy can help reduce prejudice towards Islamic fundamentalists.
