New Study Reveals Key Turbidity Level to Prevent Groundwater Clogging.
The researchers studied how dirty water affects clogging in groundwater recharge. They used wastewater plant effluent in sand columns to mimic the process. They found that high turbidity in the water caused clogging, reducing water flow. Low turbidity didn't cause clogging. They recommend keeping water turbidity below 0.500 NTU during groundwater recharge to prevent clogging.
