New study identifies top durum wheat cultivars for maximizing yields!
Improved durum wheat varieties that perform well across different environments are crucial for maximizing productivity. A study conducted in Southern Ethiopia evaluated nine durum wheat cultivars in four locations to assess their adaptability and stability. Results showed significant differences in grain yield among environments, genotypes, and genotype by environment interactions. Cultivars Fetan, Denbi, and Mangudo were identified as high yielders and adaptive to favorable locations, with Mangudo being the most stable cultivar. The study highlighted the importance of considering genotype by environment interactions when selecting durum wheat cultivars for optimal performance.
