Rise of Information Economy Sparks Global Conflict Over National Interests
The article analyzes how national economic interests change as we shift from an industrial economy to an information economy. The information economy is driven by digital technologies, information, and knowledge. In the industrial economy, the focus was on scientific progress and production, but in the information economy, it's about data flow, new knowledge, and access to technology. This shift is creating a new kind of society called the information society. The West and East have different approaches to developing this new society, leading to conflicts over national interests. Ukraine is still in the early stages of building its information society.
