Drip irrigation boosts tomato yield by 28% while saving 22% water
The study looked at how watering tomato plants less can save water while still producing good yields. They tested two irrigation methods and different soil moisture levels. The results showed that using drip irrigation with a specific soil moisture level led to higher tomato yields and better water use. Drip irrigation used less water and gave bigger fruit yields compared to furrow irrigation. The plants grew better and produced fruit earlier with drip irrigation. Overall, using drip irrigation with the right soil moisture level can save water, increase tomato yields, and improve water efficiency.
