Weeding out hunger: Mungbean yields soar with timely weed control
The study looked at how weeds competing with mungbean plants affect their yield. They found that letting weeds grow alongside mungbeans for more than 15 days after planting can lead to a significant decrease in crop yield. In fact, uncontrolled weeds caused a 50% loss in yield. The best results were seen when weeds were controlled within the first 15-30 days after planting. This shows that keeping weeds in check is crucial for getting a good harvest of mungbeans in both spring and summer seasons.
