Salt marshes are important coastal ecosystems threatened by sea-level rise. Storm events bring sediment to marshes, crucial for their survival. Marsh creeks play a key role in sediment transport during calm weather and storms. Field campaigns in the Netherlands showed creeks export sediment in calm weather and import during storms. This study reveals how creeks help marshes grow during storm events.
