The article discusses using optical wavelet processing to quickly detect targets in images. This method uses wavelet transform to analyze signals and images, with the advantage of faster processing speeds compared to traditional methods. By utilizing an optical correlator architecture, the computation load is reduced, allowing for near real-time processing. This approach is not limited by the size of the wavelet filter, only by the speed of the spatial light modulator.
