New Sorghum Variety Boosts Drought-Prone Areas' Grain Yield in Ethiopia.
A study in North Ethiopia tested 10 sorghum varieties for grain yield in dry areas. They used a model called AMMI to analyze the data. The results showed that the differences in yield were mainly due to the genetic potential of the varieties and how they interacted with the environment, rather than just where they were grown. The variety called Melkam had the highest yield, making it the most stable and consistent performer across different locations. This research helps farmers in drought-prone areas choose the best sorghum variety for higher yields.
