Sustainable Farming Practices Crucial for Highland Communities' Livelihoods
The study compared highland rotation cropping and mono cropping systems in Lamphun Province. Rotation cropping focused on commercial production, while mono cropping was for subsistence. Rotation cropping had low to moderate soil erosion, making it sustainable. Mono cropping had severe soil erosion, making it unsustainable. Both systems used traditional wisdom and had moderate soil fertility. The government should support alternative agricultural policies for highland areas.
