The study looked at how a new air quality standard in China affected green innovation in polluting industries. They found that the new policy led to more investment in research and environmental protection by firms, which improved their green innovation. Larger firms with fewer financial constraints benefited more from the regulation. This research helps us understand how environmental rules can encourage companies to be more environmentally friendly.
