The article compares two major schools of grammar, Structural Grammar and TG Grammar, focusing on their differences in background, development, philosophy, language view, study goals, methods, and language acquisition theory. It also looks at how these differences impact English teaching. By comparing these two approaches, we can better understand their nature and how they can be applied in teaching English.
