Water stress in cities is getting worse due to urbanization and climate change. To tackle this, a study looked into using a nature-based solution for treating and reusing greywater on the same plot. They combined a wetland with a special cover layer to save space and protect the system. Results showed the system effectively treated greywater, meeting EU standards for irrigation. The treated water had low levels of pollutants and bacteria, making it safe for agricultural use. The study found that this integrated system is a practical and attractive way to treat and reuse greywater in urban areas.
