Europe's Digital Divide: Southern Regions Lag Behind in Advanced ICT Use
The article explores how different factors influence the use of advanced technology in European regions. By analyzing data from Eurostat, the researchers found that regions with higher GDP per capita, educated populations, and high-tech employment tend to have more advanced ICT use. Broadband internet access is linked to employment and education levels. Interestingly, regions with good ICT infrastructure may not always have high levels of advanced technology use. Southern and eastern European regions lag behind central-northern regions in terms of ICT access and use, despite having similar infrastructure.
