Optimizing Sorghum Growth Boosts Fodder Yields and Farmer Incomes
A study on multicut fodder sorghum found that wider row spacings of 45 and 60 cm resulted in higher green fodder and dry matter yields compared to 30 cm spacing. Using 300 kg of nitrogen per hectare also led to significantly higher yields. The combination of 45 or 60 cm row spacing with 300 kg of nitrogen per hectare produced the highest yields, gross returns, net returns, and benefit cost ratio compared to other combinations.
