New model predicts durability of cement-based materials based on water content.
Capillary sorptivity in cement-based materials depends on how much water they start with. Existing models don't fully explain this, so a new model was created. This model considers how the pore structure changes when the material gets wet or dries out. The shape of the pores is really important for how water moves through the material. When testing sorptivity, it's crucial to make sure the material has the right amount of water in it beforehand.
