The study aimed to assess the performance of 22 hybrid maize varieties in a maize-soybean intercropping system. The researchers conducted experiments in Cikajang, Garut Regency, using a randomized block design with 27 treatments. They evaluated yield components like cob diameter, length, seed count, and seed weight per plant. The analysis of intercropping index revealed 4 hybrids with high yields in the intercropping system and 3 profitable hybrids based on the index.
