Green space inequality in China's urban areas worsens, impacting city dwellers.
Urban agglomerations in China have been studied to see how green spaces are distributed among cities. A new index called GEI was used to measure this distribution. The total GEI for all urban agglomerations increased from 2002 to 2019. Each of the eight urban agglomerations had a GEI value below 0.01. Some cities within these areas have more green space than others, especially in economically developed regions like the Yangtze River Delta and Guanzhong. Factors like temperature, humidity, and precipitation play a big role in determining how green spaces are distributed. This study offers insights into how green spaces in urban areas are managed and allocated.
