Female mice show higher propensity for prosocial behavior than males.
Prosocial behavior, which means doing things to help others, is not just a human thing. Mice also show prosocial behavior in experiments. In this study, adult male and female mice were tested to see if they would choose to help another mouse. Female mice were more likely to help than male mice. Both male and female mice liked being around other mice, and both could tell if another mouse was feeling hungry or relieved. This study shows that female mice are more likely to help others, while both male and female mice enjoy social interactions.
