Renewable energy storage breakthrough could power homes for days on end
In this research, scientists designed a clever energy system combining hydrogen and compressed air to store extra renewable power. They used a hydrogen generator powered by water and an air compressor to store energy. By heating the air with hydrogen combustion, they boosted the system's efficiency. Their calculations showed the system can work with 65.11% efficiency and store 5.85 kWh of energy per cubic meter. They found that improving the hydrogen generator and controlling the hydrogen combustion temperature are key to making the system work better.
