The study looked at how well hospitals in Mukalla, Yemen, followed the WHO surgical safety checklist. They found that private hospitals used the checklist more than government hospitals. The "Sign out" part of the checklist was used the most, followed by "Sign in" and "Time out". Overall, the checklist was applied in about 82% of cases. The researchers suggest that adapting the checklist to local conditions is important for improving surgical safety.
