The study looked at how adding hemp fibre and chicken mesh to mortar can make masonry stronger. They tested the bond strength of different types of reinforced mortar by using triplets of masonry units. The results showed that masonry with hemp fibre reinforcement had 27% higher bond strength than chicken mesh reinforcement, and 73% higher than unreinforced mortar masonry.
