Government support key to thriving rural collective economies in China.
The article explores how rural collective economies develop in Chinese villages. Researchers studied 20 villages in 5 provinces using a method called fsQCA. They found two main paths for village economy growth: one driven by leadership, resources, and government help, and another by leadership, participation, and policy support. In both cases, strong leadership is crucial for success. This suggests that the government should focus on nurturing entrepreneurial skills in village leaders to boost collective economy development.
