New method boosts accuracy in comparing populations with unequal variance
The study compared different methods for testing differences between two groups with different variances. They looked at nonparametric tests, bootstrap methods, and a combination of both. The results showed that the Brunner-Munzel test had the highest power, especially when the difference between the groups was large. The Bootstrap Yuen Welch Test performed best with small sample sizes. All methods controlled the chance of making a wrong conclusion.
