A study was conducted to see how different irrigation levels and intercropping systems affect wheat yield. They found that using more water (IW/CPE ratio 0.6) resulted in higher wheat yield compared to using less water (IW/CPE ratio 0.4). Intercropping wheat with gram gave the highest wheat yield and water use efficiency. Using more water and intercropping with gram also led to higher profits. Overall, combining wheat with gram and using more water can increase wheat yield and profits in limited water conditions.
