Latin American countries closing gender gap in unpaid work, study finds.
The study looked at how men and women in Latin American countries spend their time at work and at home. They found that there are differences between men and women in both paid and unpaid work. The gap in unpaid work has gotten smaller over time, but it varies in size across countries. Countries with more traditional beliefs about gender roles tend to have bigger gaps between men and women in work time. On the other hand, countries with better policies for families and more women in important roles have smaller differences in how men and women spend their time working.
