Grilling with Briquettes Saves Time and Energy, Boosts Cooking Yields
A study compared using charcoal and briquettes in a rotatable fish grill. Charcoal used more energy and time for grilling than briquettes. However, both fuels had similar energy efficiency and fuel consumption. Fish grilled with charcoal had a slightly higher cooking yield than those grilled with briquettes. The break-even point for using charcoal or briquettes in the grill was estimated. Future research could look into how the grilled fish tastes to consumers and explore using Nile Tilapia in similar studies.
