Anthropogenic activities in Indonesia waters causing pH changes affecting phytoplankton abundance.
Nutrient changes from human activities in Kassikebo waters, Indonesia, affect phytoplankton abundance. Researchers studied phytoplankton from January to July 2022 by filtering seawater samples. They found Bacillariophyceae and Cyanophyceae classes, including Skeletonema and Detonula species. The abundance of phytoplankton was not significantly different between observation stations. pH changes cause variations in phytoplankton abundance.
