Roads in Shangri-La City Linked to Severe Grassland Degradation Crisis.
Grasslands in Shangri-La are getting damaged because of human activities, especially near roads. By using satellite data, researchers found that heavily degraded grasslands cover a large area, mostly in the south where there are many roads. In the north, where roads are fewer, grasslands are in better shape. This study helps us understand how roads affect grassland degradation in Shangri-La and can guide better use of grassland resources.
