Land use practices impact soil properties in Central India, affecting water retention.
The study looked at how different types of land use affect the physical properties of soil in Central India. Samples were taken from various land types at different depths. The results showed that the type of soil significantly influenced physical properties. In Inceptisols, there was more sand, silt, and bulk density, while Vertisols had more clay, porosity, and water holding capacity. Water holding capacity, bulk density, and clay increased with depth in Vertisols, while sand and bulk density increased with depth in Inceptisols.
