The article analyzes China's position in the global value chain of the information industry. It looks at how China's information industry contributes to the global value chain and compares it to other countries. The findings show that China's information manufacturing industry is in the middle to lower levels of the value chain, while its information service industry is in the mid to upper levels. The United States is ahead of China in higher value-added work like research and development, while China focuses more on assembly and reprocessing. Japan ranks first in the global value chain for information manufacturing, while Russia, Japan, and the United States lead in information services.
