New soil classification system on Saparua Island to boost regional development!
The goal of the research was to classify the different types of soil on Saparua Island to help with regional planning. The researchers used a survey method and analyzed the landscape to identify soil types based on factors like parent material and topography. They found seven main types of soil with 11 subgroups, including Regosol, Litosol, Kambisol, Gleisol, Podsolik, and Organosol. These soils were formed due to processes like leaching and eluviation, and were influenced by factors like the type of rock and the terrain of the area.
