Flawed Experiments Undermine Scientific Credibility, Threaten Public Trust
The article discusses how to improve the way researchers report on threats to construct validity in software engineering experiments. The researchers analyzed 83 articles from top software engineering journals and found that many segments did not focus on construct validity. While most articles discussed threats clearly, they often did not clearly define the construct in question. This suggests that there is room for improvement in how construct validity is understood and reported in software engineering research.
