New interconnection schemes revolutionize control of complex physical systems!
Interconnection schemes are common in physical systems, especially in multi-domain systems with interconnected subsystems. Negative feedback interconnection is a popular structure but has limitations. Two new interconnection approaches have been developed to address this issue. These structures can break down complex passive systems into simpler subsystems and allow for the interpretation of nonlinear control methods as the interconnection of passive components. The proposed interconnection schemes are explained using bond graphs.
