The article analyzes how monetary policy tools were used to manage excess liquidity in Algerian banks from 2000 to 2014. The study looked at tools like the discount rate, compulsory reserves, and liquidity recovery tool. The discount rate was found to be ineffective, while other tools like mandatory reserves were successful in controlling excess liquidity.
