Attitudes towards Muslims in Canada shaped more by individual differences than regional divide.
The article compares attitudes towards Muslims in Quebec and the rest of Canada. It finds that differences between the two regions are not as significant as individual differences within each region. Factors like group threat theory, social identity theory, and leader evaluations have more influence on attitudes towards Muslims than the Quebec-ROC gap. Contact theory has little impact. Variables related to Quebec nationalism do not have a significant effect on attitudes towards Muslims in Quebec.
