Queer South Asian Women Challenge Western Norms on Family Relationships
This paper explores the relationships of queer South Asian women in Britain, focusing on how they navigate their sexual identity within their families. It challenges the idea that South Asian families are always homophobic and questions the Western concept of 'coming out'. The study suggests that queer South Asian women may not always be rejected by their families or pretend to be straight. It also discusses the idea of 'chosen families' and how it applies to these women.
