Timber consumption surges, reshaping energy and recycling landscapes
A report about U.S. timber from 1965 to 2005 shows data on how much wood the country made, traded, used, and its prices. They looked at past info to see changes over time. In the last 2 years, more wood was made and used by each person and more products were used per person too. Recycling paper and better processing made wood use drop since 1987, but went up to 72 ft3 per person in 2005. In 2004, each person consumed 71 ft3 and in 2005, it increased to 72 ft3. Wood energy became more popular in 2005, even though it had big ups and downs before.
